Discord Bot Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 2026
Data controller: TEKFORK LLC — Gawkit Labs — Series 4 (operating as Fart a Day) Contact: support@fartaday.com
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Fart a Day Discord bot (the “Bot”) collects, how we use it, and what rights you have. By adding the Bot to a Discord server or interacting with its commands you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
This policy applies only to the free Discord bot. The Fart a Day subscription phone-call service has its own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
1. Summary — the short version
- The Bot collects no personal data. We do not store Discord user IDs, usernames, messages, voice audio, or any other information about individual users.
- We store only server-level configuration: your server’s guild ID, any voice channel IDs you add to an allowlist or blocklist, and the settings you configure.
- We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising services.
- You can request deletion of your server’s stored configuration at any time by contacting support@fartaday.com.
2. Information we collect
Server configuration you provide via commands
When a server administrator uses the Bot’s slash commands, we store the following in a PostgreSQL database:
- Server (guild) ID — to associate configuration with your server.
- Voice channel IDs — only the channels you explicitly add to an allowlist or blocklist.
- Configuration values — frequency intervals, channel mode (blocklist or allowlist), and timing settings.
- Timestamp — when settings were last updated.
This is the only data we store. It is limited to server-level configuration and contains no personal information.
Transient data accessed at runtime
To determine which voice channels are occupied, the Bot temporarily reads channel member counts via the Discord API. This data is used only in memory to decide whether to join a channel and is never logged or stored.
3. Information we do not collect
- We do not collect, store, or process any Discord user IDs, usernames, display names, avatars, or profile information.
- We do not record, log, or store voice audio, chat messages, or any content from voice or text channels.
- We do not log who is present in a voice channel or when they join or leave.
- We do not collect IP addresses, device information, or browser data through the Bot.
- We do not use cookies, analytics tools, advertising trackers, or any third-party data collection services.
4. How we use your information
We use the stored server configuration solely to:
- Operate the Bot in your server (schedule fart events at the configured frequency and target the correct voice channels).
- Restore your server’s settings when the Bot restarts.
We do not use stored data for any other purpose.
5. Third-party services
The Bot interacts only with:
- Discord — via the Discord API to join voice channels, play audio, and respond to slash commands. Discord’s own data practices are governed by the Discord Privacy Policy.
We do not share your server’s configuration data with any other third party. We do not sell data.
6. Data storage and security
Server configuration is stored in a PostgreSQL database. We implement access controls and encrypted connections to protect stored data. However, no method of electronic storage is completely secure — we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data retention
- We retain server configuration for as long as the Bot is a member of your server.
- When the Bot is removed from a server, its scheduled tasks for that server are cleared immediately. Stored configuration may be retained until you request its deletion.
- You may request deletion of all stored configuration for your server at any time by contacting support@fartaday.com.
- Copies of data in backups may persist for a short period beyond deletion.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your data, such as the right to:
- Access the data we hold about your server.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your server’s stored configuration.
Because we do not collect personal data about individual Discord users, most individual data-rights requests do not apply. If you have questions about your rights, contact support@fartaday.com.
9. Children’s privacy
The Bot does not collect personal information from any user, including children. The Bot is not directed to children under 13. Server administrators are responsible for compliance with their server’s age requirements and applicable law.
10. International transfers
Our database infrastructure may be located in the United States. By adding the Bot to your server, you consent to the transfer and processing of server configuration data in the U.S. or other jurisdictions.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes will be posted at this URL with a new effective date. Continued use of the Bot after changes constitutes acceptance.
12. Reporting abuse or violations
If you believe the Bot is being used in a way that violates Discord’s Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, or our own Terms and policies, please report it to us at support@fartaday.com. We will review all reports and take appropriate action.
You can also use the /fartaday support command inside Discord to find reporting and contact information.
