Discord Bot Terms of Service
Effective date: June 2026
Company: TEKFORK LLC — Gawkit Labs — Series 4 (“we”, “us”, “Fart a Day”) Website: https://fartaday.com Support: support@fartaday.com
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Fart a Day Discord bot (the “Bot”). By adding the Bot to a Discord server or interacting with its commands you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, remove the Bot from your server.
These Terms apply only to the free Discord bot. The Fart a Day subscription phone-call service has its own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. Overview
The Fart a Day Discord bot is a free entertainment bot that randomly joins occupied voice channels in your Discord server, plays a short prerecorded fart sound, and leaves. Server administrators can configure the frequency and target channels using slash commands.
2. Definitions
- Bot: the Fart a Day Discord bot application.
- Server / Guild: a Discord server where the Bot has been added.
- Administrator: a Discord user with the “Manage Server” permission in the server where the Bot is installed.
3. Eligibility
- You must have the “Manage Server” permission in a Discord server to add or configure the Bot.
- You must comply with the Discord Terms of Service and Discord Community Guidelines at all times.
- You are responsible for ensuring the Bot’s use in your server complies with your server’s rules and applicable law.
4. Pricing
The Bot is provided free of charge. There are no subscriptions, in-app purchases, or premium tiers. We reserve the right to introduce paid features in the future, but any existing free functionality will not be restricted without notice.
5. Bot permissions
The Bot requires only the following Discord permissions to function:
- Connect — join voice channels.
- Speak — play audio in voice channels.
The Bot also registers application commands (slash commands) which require the applications.commands OAuth2 scope.
6. Commands
All Bot commands require the “Manage Server” permission and include:
/fartaday frequency— set the minimum and maximum interval (in minutes) between fart events./fartaday channel-list— add or remove a voice channel from the allowlist or blocklist./fartaday channel-settings— view or clear the channel list, or switch between blocklist and allowlist mode./fartaday show-settings— display current server configuration./fartaday reset— reset all settings to defaults.
All command responses are ephemeral (visible only to the user who ran the command).
7. Data collection and privacy
What we store:
- Server (guild) ID — to associate configuration with your server.
- Voice channel IDs — only the channels you explicitly add to an allowlist or blocklist.
- Configuration values — frequency intervals, channel mode, and timing settings you configure.
- Timestamp — when settings were last updated.
What we do not store:
- We do not collect, store, or process any Discord user IDs, usernames, messages, voice audio, or any other personal information about server members.
- We do not record or log voice channel activity, conversations, or who is present in a channel.
- We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising services.
All stored data is limited to server-level configuration in a PostgreSQL database. No personal data is collected.
When the Bot is removed from a server, its scheduled tasks for that server are cleared. You may request deletion of stored server configuration at any time by contacting support@fartaday.com.
8. How the Bot works
- The Bot schedules a random timer based on the configured frequency (default: 5–60 minutes).
- When the timer fires, the Bot scans for occupied voice channels (channels with at least one non-bot user).
- It filters channels based on your blocklist or allowlist configuration.
- If an eligible occupied channel is found, the Bot joins, waits briefly, plays a randomly selected fart sound from its local library, waits briefly, and disconnects.
- If no eligible occupied channel exists, the Bot skips and reschedules.
9. Audio content
All sound effects are short prerecorded audio clips stored locally with the Bot. They are sourced from royalty-free libraries and are played only in real time within Discord voice channels — they are not uploaded, distributed, or stored externally.
10. Acceptable use
You must not use the Bot to:
- Violate Discord’s Terms of Service or Community Guidelines.
- Harass, threaten, or disrupt other users.
- Attempt to exploit, reverse engineer, or interfere with the Bot’s operation.
- Use automated tools to spam Bot commands or overload the Bot.
We may restrict or revoke Bot access to servers that violate these rules.
11. Availability and disclaimers
THE BOT IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR UNINTERRUPTED AVAILABILITY.
The Bot depends on Discord’s API and infrastructure. We do not guarantee uptime, response time, or uninterrupted operation. Discord API changes, outages, or rate limits may affect Bot functionality.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Bot at any time without notice.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE BOT, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DISRUPTION OF VOICE CHANNELS, LOST DATA, OR INABILITY TO USE THE BOT.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED USD $0, REFLECTING THE FREE NATURE OF THE BOT.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TEKFORK LLC, its officers, affiliates, agents, and employees from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Bot, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of applicable law or Discord’s terms.
14. Changes to the Bot and these Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted at this URL with a new effective date. Continued use of the Bot after changes constitutes acceptance.
15. Governing law & venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming without regard to conflict of law rules. You and we agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Sheridan County, Wyoming.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
17. Reporting abuse or violations
If you believe the Bot is being used in a way that violates Discord’s Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, or these Terms, please report it to support@fartaday.com. We review all reports and take appropriate action, which may include restricting or revoking Bot access.
You can also use the /fartaday support command inside Discord to access reporting and contact information.
